Industrial Safety Glossary
Safety teams in plants, ports and energy facilities work with the same vocabulary every day: permits, indicators, isolation procedures, incident classifications. This glossary explains each term the way it is actually used on site rather than the way it reads in a textbook — what it is, why it matters, and how it is measured or applied. Every term is available in Arabic and English, because teams here use both in the same working day.
Measurement
Measurement and indicators
How safety performance is measured on a site, from the lagging counts that record what already happened to the leading activity that tries to prevent it. The difference between the two is the difference between knowing a site’s history and knowing its direction.

Equipment and frameworks
What a worker wears on site, and the management structures that govern health, safety and environment together, at site level and across a company. The two management terms differ only in ordering, not in substance, and the difference is worth stating plainly.
